Abstract  Abstract

PURPOSE: A MAC(Medium Access Control) multiplexing and a TFC(Transport Format Combination) selection procedure for an enhanced uplink is provided to quantify the data volume which is allowed by a grant in order to be closely matched with the selected TFC transmission block size. CONSTITUTION: A first sum of a first data size, a second data size, and a scheduling information size is determined. The scheduling information or bits of a MAC-d flows is multiplexed into a MAC-e(MAC E-DCH) PDU(Protocol Data Unit) which is not larger than the maximum size of the E-TFC. An E-TFC is selected in order to perform the MAC-e PDU(410). The MAC-e PDU is transmitted(415).
