Abstract  Abstract

Disclosed is a method executed in a radio environment including a radio network controller (RNC) quantifying multiplexing data permitted by a grant to be matched with a wireless transmission/reception unit (WTRU), a node-B, and the selected-evolved uplink (EU) transmission format combination (E-TFC) transmission block size. The amount of scheduled and non-scheduled data permitted to be matched with an E-TFC transmission block size, in which the amount of the multiplexing data is selected by an EU medium access control (MAC) protocol data unit (PDU), is quantified. In the example, the amount of buffered multiplexing data is quantified to match the sum of the scheduled and non-scheduled data including an MAC header and control information multiplexed by the MAC PDU with the selected E-TFC transmission block size. (Reference numerals) (405) Wireless transmission/reception unit (WTRU) receives a scheduled or non-scheduled grant from node-B or a wireless network controller (RNC);(410) Size of improved uplink (UP) transmission format combination (E-TEC) transmission blocks is selected to multiplex the blocks according to the scheduled or non-scheduled grant based on an approved quantity of data;(415) Maximum amount of the scheduled and/or non-scheduled data which is allowed to be transmitted according to the scheduled or non-scheduled grant is normalized in order to make the multiplexed data quantity with each EU mediums access control (MAC-e) protocol data unit (PDU) being closely matched with the size of select E-TFC transmission blocks;(AA) Start;(BB) End
