Abstract
Techniques for selecting encoded image buffer (CPB) parameters that are used to define a CPB for a video encoding device for clean random access images (CRA) e Broken Link Access (BLA) images in a stream of video bits. A video encoding device receives a bit stream that includes one or more CRA images or BLA images, and also receives a message indicating whether or not to use an alternative set of CPB parameters for at least one of the images of CRA or BLA images. The message can be received from an external medium, such as a processing medium included in a streaming server or a network entity. The video coding device sets a defined variable to indicate the set of CPB parameters for a given one of the images based on the received message, and selects the set of CPB parameters for the given one of the images based on the variable for the image.
