A spatial diversity system for a digital mobile telephone network comprises at least two antennas (16, 18), one antenna being part of a main (or master) assembly (10) and the other of a diversity (or slave) assembly ) (14), each assembly comprising a processing means for detecting the quality of the digital audio signals received by their respective antennas, the quality comprising the quality of the link, the AGC level and the parity errors, the main unit can compare the quality of the audio signals received by each antenna, select the signal with the best quality and transmit this signal to the telephone network.
