Abstract  Abstract

TIMING ACCURACY FOR REFERENCE SIGNAL TRANSMISSION DURING POWER SAVING STATE OF USER EQUIPMENT (UE). The present invention relates to methods, systems, computer-readable media and apparatus for UE positioning. In some embodiments, a UE is configured to transmit a reference signal to a network resource to perform measurements on the reference signal and derive the position of the UE. The reference signal time is tracked with a specific accuracy. The precision is based on a timing precision that the UE can support from different timing precisions. Different timing precisions can be supported, each of which can have a different set of timing error thresholds. For example, for an angle-based positioning of the UE, a low timing accuracy can be supported. In comparison, for a timing-based positioning method, a high timing accuracy can be supported.
