Abstract  Abstract

MOBILE TELECOMMUNICATION NETWORK, UNLICENSED RADIO ACCESS SYSTEM, AND METHODS TO DETAIL A CONNECTION BETWEEN A MOBILE STATION AND A NETWORK PORTION OF A MOBILE COMMUNICATION NETWORK FOR A RADIO ACCESS NETWORK And to designate and connect access points to an access point controller in an unlicensed radio access network. fixed broadband network (302) to access points (301) communicating with mobile stations (1) by unlicensed radio. The access points are connected to the broadband network from any location by the subscriber. In order to alleviate the configuration required to enable transfer, each access point controller is assigned to a location area defined in the conventional network. A mobile station entering the mini-cell of an access point sends the relative access point information to the location area to the last convection network cell with which it communicated. With this information, the access point obtains from a memory 40 the fixed broadband address of the access point controller assigned to this site area. The access point uses this address to establish a connection with the designated access point controller to operate its current location.
