Abstract  Abstract

The invention claims a method for performing discontinuous reception (DRX) in a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) and a WTRU. the method comprising: the WTRU stay arousal exceeds a minimum active period for receiving downlink data from an evolved Node B (eNB) the wake-up period of the minimum active period corresponding to the DRX operation and the WTRU in response to receiving a DRX activation information of a medium access control (MAC) message to resume DRX.
