APPARATUS, SYSTEM, METHOD, AND COMPUTER-READABLE MEDIUM FOR PERFORMING BEAM FAILURE RECOVERY

Abstract

An electronic device includes a transceiver in communication with a network; and a circuitry system. A circuitry is configured to perform beam fault detection on a monitored cell; perform beam fault detection on the monitored cell; detect a beam failure on the monitored cell; determine at least one new set of candidate beam reference signals (CB-RSs) from at least one set of CB-RSs configured for the electronic device; determine whether any CB-RS fulfillment criterion exists in the at least one new set of CB-RSs, and in the event of determining that any CB-RS fulfillment criterion exists in the at least one new set of CB-RSs: select a beam corresponding to the CB-RS fulfillment criterion in the new set as a new beam, and indicate the selected new beam to the network; and indicate to the network that the CB-RS fulfillment criterion is not present in the new set in a case where it is determined that the CB-RS fulfillment criterion is not present in the new set of CB-RSs.
