Abstract
Starting from the treatment of a packet data service in a cellular network by a service network node (SGSN) in connection with an access network node (GGSN) is done for the transmission of packet data according to the invention an interworking of the packet data service with network functions of an intelligent network one service switching function (SSF) to the service network node ( SGSN) connected together and a service control function (SCF) via an interface (Gnew) to the service node (SGSN / SSF) is turned with integrated service switching function. By interworking with integration of the service switching function in the service network node handling the packet data service via IN functions can be in the first reach which has the advantage of a similar service treatment as all other IN services. The newly created interface for the interworking between service network node with integrated service switching function and service control function supports the uniform service handling which is thus applicable to both packet-oriented communication as well as for connection-oriented communication.
