Abstract  Abstract

In a digital cellular mobile radio system with base stations Bm, Bn and mobile stations MS1, MS2 with transmitters and receivers, at least two base station transmitters Bma, Bmb, Bna, Bnb which are located a certain distance apart are linked to certain selected cells Cm, Cn within a limited geographical area. The base station transmitters which are linked to the same cell transmit digitally modulated radio signals within the same frequency range at least partly simultaneously to the cells mobile stations. The radio signals from different base station transmitters which are linked to the same cell are digitally modulated with the same message information to the mobile stations in the cell. Different base station transmitters 9A, 9B preferably transmit the digitally modulated radio signals with the same message information to a selected mobile station with a certain transmission time delay. Thus the transmission time delay is selected individually for each mobile station, so that corresponding digitally modulated radio signals with the same message information from different base station transmitters to a selected mobile station arrive at the mobile station at essentially the same time. <IMAGE>
