Abstract  Abstract

A reduction of the cell search process including sector identification without increasing the load on the transmit / receive device is proposed. The synchronization channel (SCH channel) included in the downlink in a multi-carrier mobile communication system is multiplied by a sector-specific code and a cell-specific code (step S1), assigned to subcarriers on the frequency axis (step S2), undergoes extension processing, and inverse fast Fourier transform (IFFT) (steps S3, S4) and then undergoes a guard interval (GI) and digital-to-analog conversion (steps S5, S6), and a multi-carrier signal is transmitted from the directional antenna of each sector (step S1). The receiving side determines the position of the SCH channel by autocorrelation or cross-correlation method, performs fast Fourier transform (FFT) and then simultaneously performs sector identification by detecting sector-specific code and obtaining cell-specific information by demodulating cell-specific code.
