Abstract
A method for providing precoding weights for data symbols of data control subframes includes generating a downlink frame having control subframes which individually correspond to one of a plurality of downlink data subframes and inserting weight information into each of the control subframes such that the weight information is to be applied to data symbols present in the corresponding one of the data subframes. The method further includes transmitting the control subframes and the inserted weight information to a receiving device.

Claim
1. A method for providing precoding weights for data symbols of data control subframes, the method comprising: generating a downlink frame comprising control subframes which individually correspond to one of a plurality of downlink data subframes; inserting weight information into each of the control subframes, wherein the weight information is to be applied to data symbols present in the corresponding one of the plurality of data subframes; and transmitting the control subframes and the inserted weight information to a receiving device.
2. The method according to claim 1, wherein each of the control subframes comprise a first portion and a second portion, the method norther comprising: inserting the weight information into the first portion of each of the control subframes.
3. The method according to claim 2, wherein the first portion of each of the control subframes is defined by a single slot, and the second portion of each of the control subframes is defined by at least two slots which follow the single slot.
4. The method according to claim 2, wherein the first portion of each of the control subframes is arranged to border data symbols present in the corresponding one of the plurality of data subframes.
5. The method according to claim 1, wherein each of the control subframes comprise a plurality of consecutive slots, and wherein the weight information is inserted in a first slot of the consecutive slots.
6. The method according to claim 1, further comprising: inserting the weight information into only one of a plurality of slots which define each of the control subframes.
7. The method according to claim 1, wherein each of the data sub frames comprise high speed physical data shared channel (HS-PDSCH) subframes.
8. The method according to claim 1, wherein each of the control subframes comprise high speed shared control channel (HS-SCCH) subframes.
9. The method according to claim 1, wherein the receiving device is configured as user equipment
10. The method according to claim 1, wherein the generating of the downlink frame is performed by a Node B operating within a wireless communication system
11. The method according to claim 1, further comprising: transmitting the weight information in a slot which precedes a slot used to transmit data in the corresponding data subframe
12. A method for receiving precoding weights applied to data symbols of data control subframes, the method comprising: receiving a plurality of data subframes; receiving a downlink frame comprising control subframes which individually correspond to one of the plurality of data subframes; identifying weight information in each of the control subframes; and applying the weight information for each of the control subframes to corresponding data subframes of the plurality of data subframes
13. The method according to claim 12, wherein each of the control subframes comprise a first portion and a second portion, the method further comprising: identifying the weight information in the first portion of each of the control subframes
14. The method according to claim 13, wherein the first portion of each of the control subframes is defined by a single slot, and the second portion of each of the control subframes is defined by at least two slots which follow the single slot
15. The method according to claim 13, wherein the first portion of each of the control subframes is arranged to border data symbols present in the corresponding one of the plurality of data subframes
16. The method according to claim 12, wherein each of the control subframes comprise a plurality of consecutive slots, and wherein the weight information is inserted in a first slot of the consecutive slots
17. The method according to claim 12, further comprising: identifying the weight information in only one of a plurality of slots which define each of the control subframes
18. The method according to claim 12, wherein each of the data subframes comprise high speed physical data shared channel (HS-PDSCH) subframes
19. The method according to claim 12, wherein each of the control subframes comprise high speed shared control channel (HS-SCCH) subframes.
20. The method according to claim 12, further comprising: identifying the weight information in a slot which precedes a slot in which data in the corresponding data subframe is located.
21. A transmitting entity operable in a wireless communication system and configured to provide precoding weights for data symbols of data control subframes, the transmitting entity comprising: a processor configured to: generate a downlink frame comprising control subframes which individually correspond to one of a plurality of downlink data subframes; insert weight information into each of the control subframes, wherein the weight information is to be applied to data symbols present in the corresponding one of the plurality of data subframes; and a transmitter configured to transmit the control subframes and the inserted weight information to a receiving device.
22. The transmitting entity according to claim 21 , wherein each of the control subframes comprise a first portion and a second portion, wherein the processor is further configured to: insert the weight information into the first portion of each of the control subframes.
23. The transmitting entity according to claim 22, wherein the first portion of each of the control subframes is defined by a single slot, and the second portion of each of the control subframes is defined by at least two slots which follow the single slot.
24. The transmitting entity according to claim 22, wherein the first portion of each of the control subframes is arranged to border data symbols present in the corresponding one of the plurality of data subframes.
25. The transmitting entity according to claim 21 , wherein each of the control subframes comprise a plurality of consecutive slots, and wherein the processor is further configured to: insert the weight information in a first slot of the consecutive slots.
26. The transmitting entity according to claim 21 , wherein the processor is further configured to: insert the weight information into only one of a plurality of slots which define each of the control subframes.
27. The transmitting entity according to claim 21 , wherein the processor is further configured to: transmit the weight information in a slot which precedes a slot used to transmit data in the corresponding data subframe.
28. A portable device for receiving precoding weights applied to data symbols of data control subframes, the portable device comprising: a receiver configured to: receive a plurality of data subframes; receive a downlink frame comprising control subframes which individually correspond to one of the plurality of data subframes; and a processor configured to: identify weight information in each of the control subframes; and apply the weight information for each of the control subframes to corresponding data subframes of the plurality of data subframes.
29. The portable device according to claim 28, wherein each of the control subframes comprise a first portion and a second portion, wherein the processor is further configured to: identify the weight information in the first portion of each of the control subframes.
30. The portable device according to claim 29, wherein the first portion of each of the control subframes is defined by a single slot, and the second portion of each of the control subframes is defined by at least two slots which follow the single slot.
31. The portable device according to claim 29, wherein the first portion of each of the control subframes is arranged to border data symbols present in the corresponding one of the plurality of data subframes.
32. The portable device according to claim 28, wherein each of the control subframes comprise a plurality of consecutive slots, and wherein the weight information is inserted in a first slot of the consecutive slots.
33. The portable device according to claim 28, wherein the processor is further configured to: identify the weight information in only one of a plurality of slots which define each of the control subframes.
34. The portable device according to claim 28, wherein the processor is further configured to: identify the weight information in a slot which precedes a slot in which data in the corresponding data subframe is located.']
