Abstract  Abstract

A method for receiving a downlink signal by an apparatus in a wireless mobile communication system is disclosed. Common downlink control information including a resource indication value RIV wherein the RIV is mapped to a start index S and a length L of consecutive virtual resource blocks VRBs is received and the downlink signal is received on the consecutive VRBs. If Y -1 ??X/2? is given the RIV is mapped to the start index S and the length L of the consecutive VRBs according to RIV = X(Y-1) + Z or else the RIV is mapped according to RIV = X(X-Y+1)+(X-1-Z) where X = ?NVRB/G? Y = L/G Z = S/G NVRB is a number of VRBs and G is an integer of 2 or more.
