A method for controlling the media current formation treatment (C1) used in interpersonal communication services, sent from a second final system (B) over an IP network, via a gateway system (S), over the IP network ( 102) to a first end system (A) by means of the gateway system (S) that provides a media current formation treatment service characterized in that said service is independent of the end user application control, the gateway system comprising (S) a gateway controller (202) having a Uniform Resource Identifier (URI) that is known to any potential service user, such that the gateway system (S) is available for external control by any user of potential service, through the gateway controller (202), the method comprising the operations of: accessing the first end system (A) to the gateway controller (202) on a first path, co n the purpose of controlling the service by configuration and activation, by means of the known URI; treat the media (C1) that form current in a second path that is separated from the first path, such that the data is processed and sent to the first final system (A) continuously without having received the full media stream (C1) before of starting treatment.
