Abstract  Abstract

A synchronization method for cell search in a CDMA system, including the steps of: (a) detecting a time interval of the received signal; (b) identify a group of long codes by correlating the received signal with each of a plurality of short code candidates identifying the group of long codes in the detected time interval and detecting the maximum correlation value; and (c) identify a long code among a plurality of long codes belonging to the identified long code group; characterized by detecting, in step (c), a long code time using a known configuration formed by the correlation values obtained in step (b).
