Abstract
A method comprising: determining, in a radio network controller, RNC (18) two values of the size of the transport block, TBS, by NodeB (10), in which said two maximum TBS values are associated with the transmissions by the user equipment (14) in an enhanced dedicated channel, E-DCH, when said user equipment (14) is operating in a CELL_FACH state, said two maximum TBS values that include: (a) a first TBS value maximum for users operating in that CELL_FACH state that are located at one edge of the cell; and (b) a second maximum TBS value for users operating in said CELL_FACH state that are not located at said cell edge; The method also includes: transmitting, from said RNC (18), said two maximum TBS values to each NodeB (10).
