Abstract
A method for adjusting the power at a base station (110) involved in a macro-diversity communication, comprising the steps of: -reception of a power instruction (425C); - establishment of a current power (430G) of the base station ; -determination of a power adjustment value in response to the power instruction and the current power (430) of the base station; y-adjustment of the current power of the base station based on the power adjustment value (430I), characterized in that said step of determining a power adjustment value in response to the power instruction and the current power of the base station comprises the steps of: comparing the current power of the base station with a predetermined threshold (530) and setting the power setting value equal to a first value (510; 430B) that is less than a first nominal value if the Power instruction corresponds to an increase command (425A) and if the current power of the base station is greater than the predetermined threshold (430A); setting the power adjustment value equal to a second value (505; 430C) which is greater than a second nominal value if the power instruction corresponds to an increase command and if the current power of the base station is not greater than the predetermined threshold; setting of the power adjustment value ia equal to a third value (515; 430E) which is less than a third nominal value if the power instruction corresponds to a decrease command (425B) and if the current power of the base station is less than the predetermined threshold (430D); and setting the power adjustment value equal to a fourth value (520; 430F) that is greater than a fourth nominal value if the power instruction corresponds to a decrease command (425B) and if the current power of the base station is not less than the default threshold.
