A method for processing audio data, wherein the method comprises: obtaining a noise frame of an audio signal, and decomposing the noise frame into a low noise band signal and a high noise band signal; and encode the low noise band signal using a first discontinuous transmission mechanism and transmit the low noise band signal encoded using the first discontinuous transmission mechanism, and encode the high noise band signal using a second discontinuous transmission mechanism and transmitting the encoded noise high band signal using the second discontinuous transmission mechanism, wherein a policy for sending a first frame of silent insertion descriptor, SID, of the first discontinuous transmission mechanism is different from a policy for sending a second SID of the second discontinuous transmission mechanism; wherein the coding of the high noise band signal using a second discontinuous transmission mechanism and transmitting the high band noise signal encoded using the second discontinuous transmission mechanism comprises: generating a deviation extension value in accordance with a first ratio and a second relationship, wherein the first relationship is a ratio of a high noise signal energy to a low noise signal energy of the noise frame, and the second relationship is a ratio of an energy of a high noise band signal to an energy of a low noise band signal at a time when an SID, comprising a high noise band parameter, is last sent before the noise frame; and determine if the deviation extension value reaches a preset threshold; If the answer is yes, encode an SID of the high-band noise signal using the policy to encode the second SID, and send the SID; and if the answer is negative, determine that the high noise band signal does not need to be encoded or transmitted.
