A method (900) in a wireless communication receiver transmitter (12), of controlling the precoder selection feedback (44) sent to another wireless communication receiver transmitter (10) that precodes the transmissions (46) to the receiver transmitter (12) ), wherein said precoder selection feedback (44) indicates precoder selections by said receiver transmitter (12), said method being characterized by: receiving (902) restriction signaling (48) from the other transmitter receiver (10) that identifies a permitted subset (84-1) of conversion precoders (74) within a defined set (80) of conversion precoders (74), and identifies a permitted subset (84-2) of precoders of tuning (76) within a defined set (86) of tuning precoders (76), in which the respective pairs of conversion and tuning precoders ion (74, 76) in the defined sets (80, 86) of conversion and tuning precoders (74, 76) correspond to respective global precoders (28) in a defined set (26) of global precoders (28); wherein one or more subsets are associated with a mode of operation or with certain parameters of operation, while one or more different subsets are associated with another mode of operation or with certain different parameters of operation, in which said signaling of restriction comprises signaling an indication of the mode or parameter or parameters that are in effect; and generate (904) the precoder selection feedback (44) on the basis of selecting one of the global precoders (28), said selection is based on estimates of the condition of the channel made by the receiving transmitter (12), which include limiting said selection only to the global precoders (28) of the defined set (26) of global precoders (28) corresponding to the permitted subsets (84-1, 84-2) of the conversion and tuning precoders (74, 76).
