Abstract  Abstract

A method of providing a continuity control function (30) comprising: providing a signaling anchor point in a multimedia sub-system (12) for a first access signaling leg and a remote access signaling leg for a calling between a user element (16) and a remote endpoint (36), the first access signaling leg provided for the user element through an outgoing transfer subsystem; establishing a second access signaling section towards a user element through an input transfer subsystem; replacing the first access signaling leg with the second access signaling leg so that the second access signaling leg is anchored to the signaling anchor point; and providing call signaling through the second access signaling leg and the remote signaling leg to transfer at least a portion of a bearer path connected to the user element (16) from a first network to a second network; characterized in that: when the call originates from the user element (16), the continuity control function (30) is invoked as the first service in a chain of services associated with the call, such that all associated services with the call other than the continuity control function they are anchored by the continuity control function (30) as part of the remote call signaling leg.
