Abstract
A method and apparatus for controlling the execution of at least one function in a short-range wireless communication module (335) of a mobile device (300) adapted to receive at least one identification card (310) are described. After transmitting (420) an information request (RA2) to said identification card said information request for obtaining at least one characteristic information of said identification card a response is received from said identification card said response comprising at least one characteristic information of said identification card. When the response is identified and in response to said at least one characteristic information of said identification card said at least one function is executed. According to a particular embodiment an authentication request (RA1) is received by said short-range wireless communication module. If the response to the information request is authenticated said short-range wireless communication module transmits an authorization (RS1) to said authentication request in response to said at least one characteristic information of said identification card before the execution of said at least one function.
