Abstract
A method of transmitting a broadcasting signal, the method comprising: mapping the preamble data bits to the preamble symbols, and the data service bits to the data service symbols; compiling at least one data section based on data service symbols; assembling a signal box based on a preamble symbol and at least one data section; modulating the signal frame using orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM); and transmitting a modulated signal frame, wherein the preamble symbols are divided along the frequency axis into layers of layer 1 (L1) of equal bandwidth, where the bandwidth of one L1 block corresponds to one of 3408 subcarriers assigned to one channel.
