Abstract  Abstract

(57) (Summary) In a digital mobile communication system, a packet radio system is implemented by using a radio interface of a mobile communication network. The packet radio system comprises a packet radio support node (SGSN) connected to a mobile communication network and a gateway support node for providing an internal connection to an external packet data network (15). These support nodes (SGSN, GGSN) are connected to an intra operator packet switching backbone network (13). The service provision support node and the gateway support node collect charging information on the usage of the radio interface and the data network (15), respectively. The system further includes a billing gateway support node (BGGSN) connected to an internal backbone network (BGGSN) for receiving user-specific billing information collected by other support nodes and sending the billing information to the billing system. Is provided.
