Abstract
Systems and methods that facilitate multi-phase selective connection establishment in a wireless communication network. Radio resource control (RRC) layer communication may be instantiated between the mobile device and the base station. Additional information can be requested by downstream network components for the mobile device. Thus, the RRC resource can be utilized to transmit the additional information from the mobile device to the network component to facilitate multi-phase establishment. This can be accomplished using non-access layer (NAS) messages.
