Abstract  Abstract

An audio encoding method and apparatus is disclosed. The method divides an input audio signal into a low frequency signal and a high frequency signal; identifying the type of the low frequency signal and the high frequency signal; and the total input rate of the audio signal as the low frequency signal. And adaptively allocating the low frequency signal and the high frequency signal according to different encoding modes corresponding to the high frequency signal; and corresponding the low frequency signal to the low frequency signal according to the low frequency rate And encoding the high frequency signal according to the high frequency rate through an encoding mode corresponding to the high frequency signal. In embodiments of the present application, when the low and high frequency signals are encoded, the encoding is not performed according to the rate given in the standard or set before encoding, Code curry is adaptively adjusted for different types of signals, thereby improving overall audio coding performance.
