Abstract  Abstract

An enhanced paging mechanism for use in machine type communication is provided. First, an extra paging time point used for an MTC device is adaptively allocated, and a normal UE addition process or adaptive paging without power consumption is proposed. Next, group paging for simultaneously paging a plurality of MTC devices using one paging is proposed. Group paging is limited at different levels to optimize signaling and simplify management. In one embodiment, group broadcasting and ungrouping are used. Finally, paging is proposed that has a response policy that defines or dynamically sets a paging response policy for use with the MTC device. (Selection) Figure 1
