Abstract
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a discontinuous speech that could occur on return from packet loss at a speech start point of time.SOLUTION: A sound signal processing method of the present invention comprises: an ISF/LSF quantization step for quantizing an ISF/LSF parameter; an ISF/LSF concealment step for generating a concealed ISF/LSF parameter that is concealed information pertaining to the quantized ISF/LSF parameter; a discontinuity estimation step for estimating discontinuity occurring in a first speech packet received normally after occurrence of a packet loss, using the distance between the quantized ISF/LSF parameter and the concealed ISF/LSF parameter generated in the ISF/LSF concealment step; and an auxiliary information encoding step for encoding auxiliary information pertaining to discontinuity. The auxiliary information pertaining to discontinuity is generated by a quantized code book gain that is used in excitation signal calculation of the speech packet that is lost and the first speech packet received normally after occurrence of the packet loss.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 15
