Abstract
A user equipment (UE) may be assigned a set of aggregated component carriers for downlink carrier aggregation and / or carrier selection. Some UEs may not be able to transmit uplink signals on all component carriers in their associated aggregated component carrier set. In such a scenario, the UE may need to perform SRS switching to transmit SRS symbols on all of the component carriers. Embodiments of the present disclosure provide various techniques to facilitate SRS switching. For example, radio resource control (RRC) messages may be used to signal periodic SRS configuration parameters. As another example, downlink control indication (DCI) messages may be used to signal non-periodic SRS configuration parameters. Many other examples are also provided.
