Abstract  Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve access request transmission in a wireless communication system by assigning specific exclusive uplink resources to respective mobile station units.

SOLUTION: Channel segments accompanied with different time slot indexes and/or waveform indexes are assigned to respective mobile station units and waveforms accompanied with the different indexes are made orthogonal. A base station is allowed to identify the mobile station which makes an access request from an exclusive uplink resource. Therefore it is not necessary to set any mobile station identification number in an uplink request message. Then the base station transmits a request response message which is likely to have the identification number of the request side mobile station unit on a shared downlink resource and confirms the reception of the request. The mobile station is allowed to transmit a message for confirming the reception of a downlink request response message on the shared uplink resource.
