Abstract  Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide radio communication device and method that can prevent deterioration of through-put of an LTE terminal even when an LTE terminal and an LTE+terminal coexist.

SOLUTION: A setting unit 105 sets for each sub frame a resource block in which a reference signal used for only an LTE+terminal is disposed on the basis of an arrangement pattern of the reference signal. An arrangement unit 106 arranges a cell inherent reference signal used for both the LTE terminal and the LTE+terminal in all resource blocks within one frame with respect to symbols mapped to antennas 110-1 to 110-4. The arrangement unit 106 arranges a cell inherent reference signal used for only the LTE+terminal in some set resource blocks on the basis of a set result input from the setting unit 105 with respect to symbols mapped to antennas 110-5 to 110-8.
