Abstract  Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transmitter receiver and a method for supporting not only the EV-DO transmission system but also the OFDM system and the MIMO technique in the HRPD system.

SOLUTION: A MIMO dedicated interlaced slot is set by assigning a dedicated pilot for supporting multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO). The method includes a step for checking whether or not the current interlace is a specific interlace into which a multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) signal for channel estimation in a receiver is inserted and a step for transmitting a MIMO signal after inserting the MIMO signal into the specific interlace according to a predetermined transmission system if the current interlace is the specific interlace. The MIMO can be used efficiently in a system where an EV-DO user a MIMOEV-DO user an OFDM user and a MIMO-OFDM user coexist.
