Abstract  Abstract

The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for configuring a downlink signal in a mobile communication system, and a method and apparatus for synchronizing and searching for cells using the same. One downlink frame in the mobile communication system is composed of a plurality of symbols, and each of the plurality of symbols is inserted such that pilot subcarriers are distributedly arranged on the basis of a time axis and a frequency axis. In this case, first, the initial symbol synchronization and the initial frequency synchronization are estimated using the position where the cyclic prefix of the downlink signal and the maximum number of effective symbols of the downlink are maximized, and then, the pilot subcarriers included in the estimated symbol are used. Estimate search and integer frequency synchronization. Next, the fine symbol synchronization is estimated using the cell search estimation result, the fine frequency synchronization is estimated, and the downlink frame synchronization is estimated. Then, frequency and time tracking of the downlink is performed, and cell tracking is performed using the pilot subcarrier position set inserted in the downlink frame, and the fine symbol synchronization tracking and the fine frequency synchronization tracking are repeatedly performed using the pilot subcarrier. Frequency and time tracking of the downlink frame is performed.
