Abstract
A method for transferring data signals between primary station 10 and secondary stations SL1 through SL2 of a master / slave wireless network comprises the steps of the primary station assigning the secondary stations to a plurality of categories Z1, Z2. It includes. The primary station transmits a beacon signal that includes an indication of a plurality of these categories, with data to be conveyed for this purpose. A secondary station operating in accordance with the wake up sequence receives these beacon signals and determines if there is an indication of that category in the received beacon signal. If present, the request is sent that includes an indication of its identification. The primary station checks to see if it has a data packet for the identified secondary station, and if so, sends a data packet and, if not, sends a disapproval notification. Secondary stations that are not involved in the exchange of messages can return to idle mode to save power.
