Abstract  Abstract

Methods of allocating and selecting dedicated signatures for random access are provided. The options for allocating a private signature allocate the private signature from the unused space of any signature root index when there is unused space, and further allocate the private signature from the same root index using the same time / frequency resources when additional signatures are needed. And reserving the preamble from the competitive random access preamble from both sets of preambles. The present invention also proposes that a dedicated signature is reserved in each of the two sets of preambles.
