Abstract
According to the present invention, a solution is provided for managing the address assignment of a mobile terminal in a WLAN interconnect. The use of the access control framework enables the mobile terminal to acquire an address and establish a tunnel with permission to access the service. In addition, the management process is protected by encryption unique to the access control process, and no special security setting procedure is required. In addition, according to the present invention, a method for obtaining an address associated with a session using a service authorization procedure is provided. Even when the terminal accesses a plurality of parallel sessions, the plurality of addresses can be maintained. In addition, address management is integrated into the policy control mechanism. This policy control provides a means for the terminal and its home network to configure the WLAN as necessary after the address change. In addition, using the channel available in this policy control procedure, QoS or tunneling information is already modified and provided according to the new status. As a result, a smooth address change within the roaming time is realized, and the QoS interruption is minimized.
