Abstract
A method for performing a handover from a serving base station to a target base station by a terminal in a wireless communication system is provided. The method includes transmitting a handover request message to a serving base station, and receiving a handover indication message in response to a handover request message from a serving base station. It is possible to utilize multiple carriers efficiently by allocating multiple carriers in advance immediately before handover and activating part or all of the multiple carriers immediately after handover.
