Abstract  Abstract

The indexing method according to the invention comprises the steps of forming a track set of pulse positions, restricting the positions of the non-zero-amplitude pulses from the combination of codebooks according to the track sets of pulse positions, and at least corresponding tracks in the codebook. Indexing each non-zero-amplitude pulse of the combination with respect to the position, the amplitude of the pulse, and the number of pulse positions in the corresponding track. To index the positions of two non-zero-amplitude pulses in one track, procedure code_1 pulses and code_2 pulses are used, respectively. When X non-zero-amplitude positions are located on one track (X ≥ 3), the subindexes of the X pulses are calculated using the procedure code_1 pulses and the code_2 pulses, and the total index combines these subindexes. Is calculated.
