Abstract  Abstract

PURPOSE: A method for totaling RRC(Radio Resource Control) connected mode terminals in an MBMS is provided to enable an RNC to exactly total the number of terminals with regards to a specific MBMS, thereby selecting a proper MBMS RB(Radio Bearer) while increasing efficiency of radio resources. CONSTITUTION: An MS receives a response request message showing whether a service is received from a system. If the service is desired by the MS, the MS transmits a response message. If an RNC receives a session start command for a specific MBMS, the RNC transmits an MBMS response request message with an MBMS notification to both RRC idle mode terminal and RRC connected mode terminal.
