Abstract  Abstract

The present invention relates to a synchronous OFDM receiver and a method thereof in a multi-cell environment. In particular, the demodulation start control unit of the synchronous OFDM receiver performs demodulation start time and demodulation by performing frame start search and cell search using a received signal. Output neighbor cell information. The FFT unit converts a signal in the time domain received from the multiple cells into a signal in the frequency domain, and the scramble code generator generates a scramble code corresponding to the neighbor cell to be demodulated and the cell to which the mobile terminal belongs, respectively. The correlator multiplies the signal output from the FFT unit with each scramble code output from the scramble code generator and outputs a corresponding correlation signal. The demodulator is provided to correspond to the cell to which the mobile terminal belongs and the maximum number of adjacent cells to be demodulated. Demodulate and output the correlated signal. The decoder decodes each signal output from the plurality of demodulators and decodes the original information transmitted from the corresponding cell. According to the present invention, in a synchronous OFDM system in a multi-cell environment, signals transmitted in cells adjacent to a cell to which a mobile terminal belongs can be easily demodulated without addition of an FFT.
