Abstract  Abstract

An embodiment of the present invention provides a paging method applied to a wireless communication system. When the downlink data to the terminal reaches the first access network device from the core network, the first access network device determines the paging parameter of the terminal, and based on the paging parameter, the first access network device or the second access And is triggered to send a paging message to the terminal by using the network device. According to the technical solution, the core network device does not participate in determining the paging parameter of the terminal, and the control point in the paging process changes from the core network side to the access network side. With this design, a large amount of signaling interaction generated between the core network device and the access network device is reduced in the paging process.
