Abstract  Abstract

In a method and device for post-processing a decoded sound signal (112) in view of in view of enhancing a perceived quality of this decoded sound signal (112) the decoded sound signal (112) is divided into a plurality of frequency sub-band signals and post-processing (108) is applied to at Ie^st one of the frequency sub-band signals but not all the frequency sub-band signals. After postprocessing of this at least one frequency sub-band signal the frequency sub-band signals may be added (203; 306; 409; 506; 708) to produce an output post-processed decoded sound signal (113; 509; 714). In this manner the post-processing can be localized to a desired sub-band(s) with leaving other sub-band(s) virtually unaltered.
