Abstract  Abstract

1. A method for introducing low-frequency pre-distortion into a spectrum of an audio signal converted in the frequency domain and containing transform coefficients grouped into a plurality of blocks, the method comprising: calculating a maximum intensity for one block having a position index; calculating a coefficient for each block having a position index less than the position index of the maximum intensity block, wherein calculating the coefficient for each block comprises the steps of calculating the block intensity; and calculating a coefficient from the calculated maximum intensity and the calculated block intensity; and for each block, the gain applied to the block transform coefficients is determined from the factor. The method for introducing low-frequency pre-distortion into the spectrum of an audio signal according to claim 1, wherein the transform coefficients are fast Fourier transform coefficients. The method of introducing low-frequency pre-emphasis into an audio signal spectrum according to claim 1, the method comprising applying adaptive introduction of low-frequency pre-distortion into an audio signal spectrum in order to minimize perceived distortion in the lower frequencies of the spectrum. The method for introducing low-frequency pre-distortion into an audio signal spectrum according to claim 1, the method comprising grouping the transform coefficients into blocks of a predetermined number of successive transform coefficients. The method of introducing low-frequency pre-emphasis into the spectrum of an audio signal according to claim 1, in which the calculation of the maximum intensity for one block
