Abstract  Abstract

1. A method for generating a quick paging message in a wireless communication system, comprising the steps of:! generating a compressed identifier value for at least one access terminal that is notified in the quick paging message; ! assembling a quick paging message containing a compressed identifier; and! form a wireless signal containing at least part of the message quick search call. ! 2. The method according to claim 1, wherein the step of generating a wireless communication signal comprises generating an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) symbol comprising at least a portion of a quick paging message. ! 3. The method of claim 2, further comprising transmitting an OFDM symbol in the wireless communication system during a frame preamble. ! 4. The method according to claim 1, additionally containing stages in which:! determining the number of access terminals scheduled to receive the paging message; ! determining whether their number exceeds a predetermined maximum number; and! populate the search call number field in the quick search call message based on whether the said number exceeds a predetermined maximum number. ! 5. The method according to claim 4, in which filling in the field of the number of search calls contains filling in the field of the number of search calls with a number, if said number does not exceed a predetermined maximum number. ! 6. The method according to claim 4, in which filling in the field of the number of search calls contains filling in the field of the number of search calls with a predetermined maximum number, if the said number exceeds the charge
