Abstract  Abstract

communications engineering. SUBSTANCE: method is proposed for switching communication channels when mobile station receiving signal in transmission diversification mode moves from first base station transmitting signal in diversification support mode to second base station transmitting signal in diversification support mode. Mobile station communicates with first base station in diversification support mode. Prior to switching communication channels mobile station communicates with first base station without supporting diversification. In the course of flexible switching of communication channels mobile station communicates with first and second base stations without supporting diversification. Upon terminating flexible switching of communication channels mobile station communicates with second base station in diversification support mode. Other methods of switching communication channels are also claimed such as those when mobile station and base stations are operating in diversification support mode and without supporting diversification. EFFECT: provision for time-switching diversification of transmissions. 30 cl 47 dwg
