FIELD: radio engineering communication.SUBSTANCE: invention relates to communication engineering and can be used in wireless communication systems. A modulator and a modulation method for a communication device are disclosed. The modulator is configured to multiplex control symbols and data symbols for transmission in a signal based on information on the distance between positions of at least two control symbols in a representation of symbol positions in the signal.EFFECT: high communication channel throughput.25 cl 7 dwg
