Abstract  Abstract

FIELD: radio engineering communication.SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for transmitting a periodic channel state information (CSI) and/or sounding reference symbol (SRS) from a UE to an eNodeB. In order to avoid double decoding in the eNodeB in the transient phases the invention determines the deterministic behaviour of the UE whereby the eNodeB can uniquely determine whether the UE will transmit the CSI/SRS or not. In accordance with one embodiment UL provisions and/or DL assignments received only before and during the N-4 subframe are considered. UL provisions and/or DL assignments received by the UE after N-4 subframe are discarded in the determination. In addition timers associated with DRX are considered in the N-4 subframe in the determination. In the second embodiment MAC control elements from the eNodeB instructing the UE to enter the DRX i.e. become inactive are considered in the determination only if they are received before the N-4 subframe i.e. before and during the N-(4+k) subframe.EFFECT: increased transmission speed.14 cl 20 dwg
