Systems and methods for providing improved downlink spectrum efficiency using HOM

Abstract

Systems, methods, and / or techniques for improving the efficiency of the downlink spectrum are disclosed. For example, higher order modulation (HOM) transmission may be provided to the device. The higher order modulation transmission may be configured to be indicated by the network or device. In addition, multiple modulation and coding scheme (MCS) tables, transmission block size (TBS) tables, and / or channel quality index (CQI) tables can be provided to support this higher order modulation transmission.
