Abstract  Abstract

There is a problem that if MIMO is applied to a transmission it increases the number of variable parameters and hence increases the number of information bits required by a control channel (Fig. 6 III). There is also a problem that if the number of simultaneous multiplexing users is increased in a single frame it increases the control channel information in proportion to the number of users. In order to solve these problems an error correction encoding process is performed for control channel information using the adaptive encoding modulation scheme; the error-correction-encoded control channel information is then modulated by use of a predetermined modulation scheme and then transmitted; and it is further arranged the encoding rate in the error correction encoding process can be varied in accordance with the propagation status.
