Abstract
A method of radio bearer establishment in dual connectivity, for a first network node in a wireless communication system is disclosed. The method comprises connecting to a communication device of the wireless communication system, determines whether to establish or release at least a radio bearer for the communication device on at least a second network node, and transmitting a request message including information of the at least a radio bearers to be established or released on the at least a second network node, to the at least a second network node.

Claim
1. A method of radio bearer establishment in dual connectivity, for a first network node in a wireless communication system, comprising:
connecting to a communication device of the wireless communication system; determining whether to establish or release at least a radio bearer for the communication device on at least a second network node; and transmitting a request message including information of the at least a radio bearers to be established or released on the at least a second network node, to the at least a second network node.
2. The method of claim 1, further comprising:
receiving a response message including information about accepting or rejecting establishment or release for the at least a radio bearer on the at least a second network node, from the at least a second network nodes; and selecting one or more than one of the at least a second network node to establish or release the at least a radio bearer according to the response message.
3. The method of claim 2, further comprising:
transmitting a configuration for the at least a second network node, to the communication device; and receiving a configuration result in response to the configuration from the communication device, wherein the configuration result includes information of that communication device completes or fails the configuration for the at least a second network node.
4. The method of claim 3, wherein the configuration includes information of at least one of cell list, cell identity and radio resource configuration for the at least a second network node.
5. The method of claim 2, wherein the selecting step comprises:
selecting one or more than one of the at least a second network node according to at least one of the response message, preference of the first network node, and loading balance of the at least a second network node.
6. The method of claim 2, wherein the response message includes information of at least one of identities of radio bearers to be accepted or rejected to be established or released, release acknowledgement, information related to configuration of radio bearers on the at least a second network node, and information related to connection setup to the at least a second network node.
7. The method of claim 2, further comprising:
transmitting a notification message including information of at least a radio bearer to be activated or released, to the at least a second network node.
8. The method of claim 7, wherein the notification message includes information of at least one of identities of the at least a radio bearer to be established or released on the at least a second network node.
9. The method of claim 1, wherein the request message includes information of at least one of identities of the at least a radio bearer to be released or established on the at least a second network node, and radio bearer level QoS parameters.
10. The method of claim 1, further comprising:
receiving a measurement report from the communication device, wherein the measurement report includes measurement that the communication device performed on the at least a second network node of the wireless communication system; wherein determines whether to establish or release the at least a radio bearer for the communication device on the at least a second network node comprises:
determines whether to establish or release the at least a radio bearer for the communication device on the at least a second network node according to the measurement report.
11. A method of radio bearer establishment in dual connectivity, for a first network node in a wireless communication system, comprising:
receiving a request message including information of at least a radio bearer to be released or established on the first network node, from a second network node of the wireless communication system; and transmitting a response message including information of accepting or rejecting establishment or release for the at least a radio bearer on the first network node, to the second network node.
12. The method of claim 11, further comprising:
activating or releasing at least a radio bearer established on the first network node according to a notification message received from the second network node, wherein the notification message includes information of the at least a radio bearer to be activated or released on the first network node.
13. The method of claim 12, further comprising:
releasing the at least a radio bearer established on the first network node if receiving the notification message from the second network node; or releasing radio bearers established on the first network node with a predetermined time if not receiving the notification message from the second network node.
14. The method of claim 12, wherein the notification message includes information of at least one of identities of at least a radio bearer to be established or released on the first network node.
15. The method of claim 11, wherein the request message includes information of at least one of identities of the at least a radio bearer to be released or established on the first network node, and radio bearer level QoS parameters.
16. The method of claim 11, wherein the response message includes information of at least one of identities of the at least a radio bearer to be accepted or rejected to be established or released, release acknowledgement, information related to configuration of radio bearers on the first network node, and information related to connection setup to the first network node.
17. A method of radio bearer establishment in dual connectivity, for a communication device in a wireless communication system, comprising:
connecting to a first network node of the wireless communication system; receiving a configuration for at least a second network node of the wireless communication system, from the first network node; establishing or releasing all or part of radio bearers on the at least a second network node according to the received configuration; and transmitting a configuration result in response to the configuration to the first network node.
18. The method of claim 17, further comprising:
performing random access to the at least a second network node, whereby the at least a second network node responds with uplink resource allocation and uplink synchronization information to the communication device.
19. The method of claim 17, wherein the configuration includes information of at least one of cell list, cell identity and radio resource configuration for the at least a second network node.
20. The method of claim 17, further comprising:
performing measurement on the at least a second network node; and transmitting a measurement report to the first network node, whereby the first network node determines whether to establish or release radio bearers for the communication device on the at least a second network node according to the measurement report.
21. The method of claim 17, wherein the configuration result includes information of that communication device completes or fails the configuration for the at least a second network node.
22. A first network node of a wireless communication system for radio bearer establishment in dual connectivity, the first network node comprising:
means for connecting to a communication device of the wireless communication system; means for determining whether to establish or release at least a radio bearer for the communication device on at least a second network node; and means for transmitting a request message including information of the at least a radio bearers to be established or released on the at least a second network node, to the at least a second network node.
23. The first network node of claim 22, further comprising:
means for receiving a response message including information about accepting or rejecting establishment or release for the at least a radio bearer on the at least a second network node, from the at least a second network nodes; and means for selecting one or more than one of the at least a second network node to establish or release the at least a radio bearer according to the response message.
24. The first network node of claim 23, further comprising:
means for transmitting a configuration for the at least a second network node, to the communication device; and means for receiving a configuration result in response to the configuration from the communication device, wherein the configuration result includes information of that communication device completes or fails the configuration for the at least a second network node.
25. The first network node of claim 24, wherein the configuration includes information of at least one of cell list, cell identity and radio resource configuration for the at least a second network node.
26. The first network node of claim 23, wherein the means for selecting step comprises:
means for selecting one or more than one of the at least a second network node according to at least one of the response message, preference of the first network node, and loading balance of the at least a second network node.
27. The first network node of claim 23, wherein the response message includes information of at least one of identities of radio bearers to be accepted or rejected to be established or released, release acknowledgement, information related to configuration of radio bearers on the at least a second network node, and information related to connection setup to the at least a second network node.
28. The first network node of claim 23, further comprising:
means for transmitting a notification message including information of at least a radio bearer to be activated or released, to the at least a second network node.
29. The first network node of claim 28, wherein the notification message includes information of at least one of identities of the at least a radio bearer to be established or released on the at least a second network node.
30. The first network node of claim 22, wherein the request message includes information of at least one of identities of the at least a radio bearer to be released or established on the at least a second network node, and radio bearer level QoS parameters.
31. The first network node of claim 22, further comprising:
means for receiving a measurement report from the communication device, wherein the measurement report includes measurement that the communication device performed on the at least a second network node of the wireless communication system; wherein the means for determining whether to establish or release the at least a radio bearer for the communication device on the at least a second network node comprises:
means for determining whether to establish or release the at least a radio bearer for the communication device on the at least a second network node according to the measurement report.
32. A first network node of a wireless communication system for radio bearer establishment in dual connectivity, the first network node comprising:
means for receiving a request message including information of at least a radio bearer to be released or established on the first network node, from a second network node of the wireless communication system; and means for transmitting a response message including information of accepting or rejecting establishment or release for the at least a radio bearer on the first network node, to the second network node.
33. The first network node of claim 32, further comprising:
means for activating or releasing at least a radio bearer established on the first network node according to a notification message received from the second network node, wherein the notification message includes information of the at least a radio bearer to be activated or released on the first network node.
34. The first network node of claim 33, further comprising:
means for releasing the at least a radio bearer established on the first network node if receiving the notification message from the second network node; or means for releasing radio bearers established on the first network node with a predetermined time if not receiving the notification message from the second network node.
35. The first network node of claim 33, wherein the notification message includes information of at least one of identities of at least a radio bearer to be established or released on the first network node.
36. The first network node of claim 32, wherein the request message includes information of at least one of identities of the at least a radio bearer to be released or established on the first network node, and radio bearer level QoS parameters.
37. The first network node of claim 32, wherein the response message includes information of at least one of identities of the at least a radio bearer to be accepted or rejected to be established or released, release acknowledgement, information related to configuration of radio bearers on the first network node, and information related to connection setup to the first network node.
38. A communication device of a wireless communication system for radio bearer establishment in dual connectivity, the communication device comprising:
means for connecting to a first network node of the wireless communication system; means for receiving a configuration for at least a second network node of the wireless communication system, from the first network node; means for establishing or releasing all or part of radio bearers on the at least a second network node according to the received configuration; and means for transmitting a configuration result in response to the configuration to the first network node.
39. The communication device of claim 38, further comprising:
means for performing random access to the at least a second network node, whereby the at least a second network node responds with uplink resource allocation and uplink synchronization information to the communication device.
40. The communication device of claim 38, wherein the configuration includes information of at least one of cell list, cell identity and radio resource configuration for the at least a second network node.
41. The communication device of claim 38, further comprising:
means for performing measurement on the at least a second network node; and means for transmitting a measurement report to the first network node, whereby the first network node determines whether to establish or release radio bearers for the communication device on the at least a second network node according to the measurement report.
42. The communication device of claim 38, wherein the configuration result includes information of that communication device completes or fails the configuration for the at least a second network node.
