Abstract  Abstract

A method of handling cell reselection includes: receiving a first cell reselection information message from a cell of the communication system, wherein the first cell reselection information message includes at least one cell reselection threshold; generating a rule ranking list, including: selecting a best cell according to a given criteria for each frequency, and storing the best cell into the rule ranking list if the best cell is corresponding with at least one cell reselection threshold; and selecting one of the best cells for cell reselection according to the rule ranking list, including: calculating a plurality of intervals each corresponding to one of the best cells within the rule ranking list according to the cell reselection threshold, generating a cell reselection value, and determining which of the plurality of intervals the cell reselection value is bounded in in order to determine which one of the best cells for cell reselection.
